The art gallery is an exhibition of world and Polish art, ranging from the works of the Old Masters through avant-garde to contemporary art. The exhibition titled "Randez vous ze sztuką" features graphics, painting, sculpture, and photography.

The Schron art gallery is a new venue on the cultural map of Giżycko. The building looks 100 years old but was actually built in 2023. The project involved using old construction materials. 25,000 old bricks, 3,000 roof tiles, and 70 ridge tiles were used. All windows, doors, and floors are over 100 years old. Even part of the roof truss is made from old beams. An old tiled stove, rebuilt by a stove fitter, adds charm to the interior.

The art gallery is an exhibition of world and Polish art, ranging from the works of the Old Masters through avant-garde to contemporary art. The exhibition titled "Randez vous ze sztuką" includes graphics, painting, sculpture, and photography. The collection of original works of art was created over 30 years. Now, over 150 of the most valuable works by artists including Rembrandt, Durer, Picasso, Dali, Beksiński, and Starowieyski are available free of charge to residents and tourists.

From the gallery, we enter the air raid shelter. The revitalized, former German shelter was built in 1944 and could accommodate 450 people. In the corridors, there are photograms—photos of Giżycko from before the First and Second World Wars. In May 2024, in the shelter's largest hall, we are opening the exhibition "Art from Masuria." We will showcase art created by local artists.

Admission to the gallery is free. More information on the website
