The Bison Enclosure in Wolisko is a unique place in Masuria where you can see these powerful and majestic animals up close, which are symbols of Polish nature. The Borecka Forest is one of the last refuges for bisons in Poland, with a herd of about 80 individuals, some living semi-wild, and others freely in the vast forests. The history of bison breeding in Wolisko dates back to the 1950s when the population of these animals began to be rebuilt after their extinction in this area. The enclosure is an important center for conservation and nature education, and its location among the Masurian forests and lakes makes it an attractive destination for excursions.
