The water tower is a historic viewing structure located just 1.5 km from the hotel. In the distinctive dome there was a water tank serving as an equalizing device.
It contained about 200 m³ of water. It was made according to the design of engineer Otto Intze from galvanized sheet metal. The Giżycko tower supplied the town's residents with running water until 1996, when the municipal water supply network was modernized. The new owner undertook renovation, giving the Tower a new look– the dome's peak was expanded with a modern viewing terrace harmonizing with the building's characteristic architecture. Inside, there is a local "mini-museum" where you can admire documents, photos, and small items illustrating the daily life of the local residents over the past years, as well as an atmospheric café. The top floor of the Water Tower (162 m above sea level) is reached by 129 steps, but can also be accessed via a comfortable, modern elevator. Above the entrance to the building are distinctive coats of arms: Mazurian and Town, inviting visitors to explore this extraordinary place.
