A wedding is usually a several-hour-long event that requires the right musical setting to be considered successful. "Prawy do lewego," "Przez twe oczy zielone," or "Y.M.C.A." are standard songs played by most bands at weddings.
Of course, we can choose, but the selection is often limited because no one knows everything. It's different with a DJ, who, playing music from records, can reach for anything that pleases us or our guests. However, this will not be live music. What to choose for your wedding?

If it was only about the young couple, they could create a whole list of their favorite songs and decide on a DJ. However, among our guests, the age range can be very wide, and we want everyone to have a good time. Mostly seated events, where music is supposed to be more background, can musically be arranged sufficiently by a DJ.

A band is definitely more expensive than a DJ. The difference can range from 1000 PLN upwards, depending on the size of the event, its duration, or our preferences. Perhaps the competition in this field is not fierce, but it's worth knowing the advantages of each option. DJs are praised by many young couples for greater possibilities. The range of songs is practically unlimited, and there are fewer acoustic problems, which sometimes occur at concerts and all events with live music. A good DJ also means good fun, properly engaging guests to dance, and a lower cost since there is only one DJ, and they don't strain their voice for several hours.
A band, although more expensive as mentioned, delivers a concert, and live music has its unique atmosphere. A good band means a great vocalist and musical virtuosos in the background. It's pleasant both to listen to and watch. However, despite good intentions, problems with proper sound system may arise. Every hall is different, and some issues cannot be predicted. Bands offer more vigor and beautiful sound, but sometimes human factors like illness or weakness appear. It may happen that bands find it difficult to maintain the proper tempo till the end of the event for various unforeseen reasons. However, we assume this is rare.
It's worth first finding the place where you want to hold the wedding, determining the style dominating the event. Then you can seek advice from the person or people overseeing the organization of your wedding and, based on their experience, get recommendations on what will be more appropriate and what works well in that particular hotel, hall, or restaurant. Sometimes the venue has contact with a good band or DJ who has already played there and proved reliable.
