Holidays and trips with a dog can sometimes be more complicated than with children. The latter are accepted almost everywhere and even get play corners and crayons in restaurants or playrooms in hotels. The former at most get a bowl of water, and sometimes they are simply banned. Because fur sheds, a claw leaves a mark, and the carpet gets eaten, especially if it has fringes.
However, the world is changing and the life of a four-legged friend is improving. Nowadays, for example, Masuria with a dog sounds quite homey, because it is not difficult to find accommodations where dogs are accepted, and as is well known, there are plenty of attractions for them there.
The Tatras are the worst, as you can hardly walk with a dog anywhere, but Poland does not end there. Usually, we fear a barking dog more than one that does not want to make a sound. We think if it barks, it's dangerous. However, sometimes a dog barks out of joy it can barely contain, and this is certainly the case when we arrive in Masuria with a dog. When our pet sees those open spaces full of forests and lakes, it will not want to return to closed rooms.
It's always worth considering sailing, which residents of other parts of the country often give up on, assuming beforehand that it's impossible with a dog. Sometimes the dog itself is a reason to give up a trip to Masuria because since the main attraction there is the lakes, and we cannot enjoy them, why go at all? That's a mistake, because it may happen that the dog refuses to go near any body of water, but this is not the rule, and the dog, even if not immediately, can catch the bug. What is worth remembering when traveling to Masuria with a four-legged friend?

Pets are accepted in an increasing number of hotels and restaurants, but that does not mean that certain rules should not be followed. Regardless of whether we travel by train or car, and no matter how confident we are in our dog’s training, we should have a leash, collar, muzzle, or halter, i.e., a head collar with us. Remember that a dog may behave differently in a new environment than in a place it knows well. Moreover, in the Masurian forests, it might encounter birds and game, which a more timid dog may get scared of and run away despite our calls.
It is always better to keep the dog close at first, observe how it feels and behaves in the given surroundings, and only then allow it more freedom. Furthermore, in a restaurant or hotel, we may not necessarily meet only animal lovers; sometimes people are afraid of dogs, so in such places it is often expected that the dog will be under the owner's control or even required to stay in the hotel room. Every dog owner should also ensure the safety of their pet.
Every dog is a tasty morsel for the parasites we dislike most, such as ticks. The more forests, the greater the chance of encountering them. Therefore, the dog should be protected by an appropriate collar, drops, or tablets. A tick removal tool should also be included in the dog’s first aid kit. Remember the food, as restaurants, so far, apart from water, do not yet serve a dog menu. If our dog likes swimming, it is obvious that it will have plenty of opportunities to get in contact with water in Masuria. It is worth remembering towels for the dog to wipe it before entering the restaurant or hotel. It is also good to have something for cuts, as these can also happen to the dog. And last but very important – the vaccination book should travel with us as the main document for the dog.

Hotel St. Bruno cares about four-legged guests. Luxurious and boutique interiors do not necessarily evoke associations with dogs, but indeed! Right at the entrance, we welcome four-legged friends with a welcome set including a bowl, toy, treat, or snack pouch (applicable to guests booking a stay of at least 3 nights). We also provide convenient door hangers for guests and staff. They indicate that there is a dog in the room, so no one will be surprised – neither the dog nor the hotel staff. The dog can use the green area surrounding the hotel, the Łuczański terrace, or the castle courtyard.
In warm months, you can go out with a meal to the courtyard and eat in the company of your dog. In other circumstances, while we go to the restaurant, the dog can calmly eat in the room, which makes everyone calmer. There is no doubt that many smells from dishes on restaurant tables may make the dog a nuisance, even not to the guests but to the owners themselves, demanding something from the table. When traveling with a dog on holidays, we must remember that a change of place and being around strangers can be an additional stress for the dog. During the stay, we must care not only for the comfort of the four-legged friend but also for other users of the hotel space.
